Honestly loved this movie. Watched in preparation of the new one and was very solid. CGI was incredible and the actors that play these apes all deserve their praise but Andy Serkis is incredible

I’m obsessed with Caesar and his lil family omg. Loved the full circle moment coming back to his home with the window. The old photos and recordings 😭😭 But didn’t fool me for a second that Caesar was dead bc ain’t no way!! F#ck you Koba, you evil ape. I hate you. Maurice on TOP. War has begun and I’m scared 😀

9.2 - Incredible sequel. Every set up from Rise is paid off. Matt Reeves can really build a gritty, lived in world. The CGI is even stronger and more real feeling, the action is intense (chimps on tanks w/ AKs!), and the story really steps up with more ambiguity and tension.

This movie is TRAGIC. I love it so much. The VFX and acting are amazing as well as the music! Can’t wait to watch the 3rd and have my heart broken.

The tonal switch from the first movie to this one works so well since the focus switches once apes. The plot is compelling obviously but it’s the characters that drive this story really. The amazing motion capture performance that Andy Serkis gives as Caesar is unbelievable.

Amazing!

I usually hate fighting/war movies, but this was just so different for obvious reasons. I liked the movie, but I loved it towards the end. When Caesar brought Malcolm and the others back to his home where he was raised when he was injured, I think I cried, and don’t even get me started on when he watched the video tapes. It was so cute seeing his family unfold, especially when his son walked in through the doors. #FuckKobaThough 8/10

The movie’s theme of our innate misguided, selfish & violent nature in othering is both simple & powerful. Caesar despite this strives for peace which tests his values and it has him at his most compelling…

yooooo Koba is a whole BITCH OH MY GOD!!!! He’s actually one of the most raw villains i’ve ever seen I was so gagged. I’m so excited to finish the rest of the series I didn’t expect it to be this good.
