really REALLY gross but really funny although not all the humor works for me, great concept for a zombie movie since kids are little disease spreaders, i loved the teacher characters so much i got so excited when i saw some of them, also the creative school weapons were awesome

This movie had a lot of great laughs and well known stars. Definitely a lot of gore at times and dragged a little here and there but overall an enjoyable ridiculous over the top movie!

One of the first things that stood out to me about Cooties was just how stacked the cast is. Every few minutes another familiar face shows up, and with so many comedy veterans involved, it’s no surprise that the movie is genuinely hilarious. I had multiple moments where I laughed out loud, which is exactly what you want from a horror-comedy.
What makes the film work so well is that it fully embraces how ridiculous its premise is. A zombie-like outbreak spreading through elementary school kids is objectively absurd, and instead of trying to make it overly serious, the movie leans into the chaos and has fun with it. As someone who absolutely loves horror-comedies, that was already a huge plus for me. The balance between horror and comedy is handled really well, with neither side completely overshadowing the other.
The gore is also surprisingly effective. Cooties doesn’t hold back when it comes to the violence, and the over-the-top kills fit perfectly with the film’s dark sense of humor. The practical effects and bloody set pieces add a lot to the entertainment value and help keep the movie feeling energetic throughout.
I also appreciated that the movie actually takes the time to explain the outbreak. We learn where the disease came from, who can and can’t be infected, and even get a potential cure. It gives the story enough internal logic that it never feels completely random, despite how insane everything happening on screen is.
The one aspect that didn’t really work for me was the love triangle. It wasn’t terrible, but it was definitely the least interesting part of the movie and felt overshadowed by everything else going on.
My biggest complaint, though, is that ending. The film leaves things on a cliffhanger, and it was honestly frustrating because I was invested enough to want more. It definitely feels like they were hoping for a sequel that never happened. If Cooties 2 ever gets made, I’d absolutely watch it. With the right cast and the same mix of gore, comedy, and chaos, it could end up being just as successful as Zombieland.

Way better then I expected it, more gore and comedí then expected doesn’t land much but the ones that do do stick well.
Big names like Elijah, Kate are only here to have them.

Freakin over the top hilariously dark comedy with the best comedic cast! I’m pretty sure some of it was improve bc there were times it seemed like the actors were going to burst out laughing. Be warned it’s over the top on zombie grossness so be prepared for that.

As hilarious and fun as fighting zombie children is for an overall premise, the rest of this movie didn’t really do much for me. Which is a shame because on paper it had so much potential.
