“Civil War” was the best thing that came from this movie
Otherwise quite dull and overrated
Acting is so incredibly overrated too, Newman was fine but that wasn’t Oscar worthy like everybody says

I was excited to watch a classic but it was just not the movie for me. I did like some parts, people leaving the room so he could be alone and everyone helping him with his meal. But unfortunately it just didn't hit for me.

An American classic and an inventive take on The Odyssey. Classic cinematic moments and quotes that hold to this day. I could actually see this being modernized in some really impactful ways today. Still focused on the hero’s journey but with firmer criticisms of authoritarian politics. Anyway if you haven’t seen this, put it on your list. One of Newman’s greatest performances.

What a classic, not a happy film tho

Quite a movie

A throwback to when films were simple, entertaining, and well written. A simple narrative that keeps the audience entertained. No philosophy, no CGI just a good script shot well and paired with great soundtrack.

Really good film that is at once tragic and inspiring.  Paul Newman plays a winsome lead character to perfection. George Kennedy as Dragline is a secondary highlight. Really transports you to another time and place with great screenplay and themes of man vs "the system."

Extremely well-made film. The turmoil & desperation is portrayed greatly particularly by a leading Paul Newman. The film takes a steady pace & lets you live in the environment without much happening, which isn’t a bad thing. The ending is bittersweet, but executed very well

Decent watch just a slow development but Paul Newman is great as luke

This is just a classic movie, tons of media have drawn from this movie and it shows why

Funnily enough I only found this movie because of a Family Guy episode
