There were so many things that I enjoyed about this film: the insanely cool concept, Ellie and Palmer’s love story, Foster and McConaughey’s chemistry and the underlying theme of faith and truth not being mutually exclusive. Really good watch!

the universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space.

The end made my cry so hard. I love you Jodie foster her acting is so good so beautiful. I am feeling so full of hope for the world. The hopeful smiler. The idea of a gentle benevolent alien species that is wayyy more intelligent than us and it is so peaceful and loving because of that intelligence is like fucking me up rn. I want to talk to the kind aliens please they have so much knowledge.

This movie really got me looking into Astronomy and wanting a career as an astronomer.

For all its talk of spiritually and philosophy, it’s easy to forget how thrilling and even terrifying this movie is. Sometimes the way it handles its topics is a little silly, but the heart and themes are solid. Even if Matthew McConaughey’s character is kinda useless.
