Strangely, watching the Jane Goodall doc reminded me of this corny 90s action film I liked as a kid. Total nonsense but I enjoyed the nostalgia, Tim Curry’s terrible fake European accent and the sign language speaking ape Amy (a person in a monkey suit lol)

Haven’t seen this since I was a kid. There’s charm in its seriousness despite absurd elements. Killer apes, laser diamonds, talking gorillas, it commits fully. That sincerity, combined with old-school adventure spirit, makes it a cult favorite.

Only thing I really liked was how the lava in the film is handled. Here's a hint, it's super hot, you know like in real life.

I haven’t seen this film in thirty years and I was curious because I remember very little about it. Although not as good as Crichton’s previous film adaptation I believe it is underrated. It has a cast with some big names, good action and solid special effects!
