So literally the first 90% of this film is great, absolutely loving it, however the very ending just doesn’t sit well with me. I left the cinema feeling pretty underwhelmed with the ending. This film will clearly never get a sequel, so why the cliffhanger…

This had probably the best soundtrack I’ve heard in a horror movie! Plus a good storyline

WHATTTTTTT that little boy could NOT catch a break. unexpectedly good and i was clenching my toes during most of the movie.

The setup was prime but the finish was worse than subpar.

gave me coraline vibes, i loved the whimsical touches def would watch especially around halloween time 🎃 gave me some jump scares watching it at 3am

got kinda goofy when she showed her face LMAOO and the ending sucked but the build up was great !!

Absolutely not. 😒 could’ve been so much better but the ending was a mess.

This was made by people who love Halloween. Some aspects made it feel like it was based on a storybook, like the set design and use of silhouette, which was neat. A really fun watch, but the end left too much unexplained imo and the victims’ screams could’ve been more convincing.

Really enjoyed it. Decent amount of creep. Some nice surprises. Would like a prequel actually.

They could end it in a better way!. The ending is a mess!!!

Sigh. It’s pretty obvious that this movie has the same producers as Barbarian.

I didn’t like this very much. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I could only say bad things about it after I watched it. I won’t dislike it; it had elements I enjoyed and definitely kept me guessing. It was just overall not a very good film. I doubt I’ll watch this again.

Started out as interesting. However, it really fell apart for me in the end. The villain is supposed to be human but shows supernatural capabilities, which is not consistent with them being able to be trapped in the end. And are they going to explain all the bodies to the police?

It was going so well until the ending. It got so goofy and I couldn’t take it seriously. I’ll definitely rewatch this with friends to see their reaction to the ending.

6.3 - a lot of clear influence from both modern & classic horror, but it doesn’t quite combine it all cohesively. Atmosphere is creepy. Acting is great. But an underwhelming monster & finale keep this just ok instead of great.
