SUCH A GOOD MOVIE, EVERYTHING was so well done from the acting, the writing and the performance of it all. If it doesn’t end up winning any awards, I will be very disappointed. I was crying throughout the movie. I could and *will* be watching this over and over again

One of the first black composers🔥As a black violist myself im ashamed i never heard of him before. Really interesting story of his life, If you’re a lover of music i highly recommend. 9/10

I kind of saw the beginning and got annoyed it wasn’t bast on a true story.
And I kind of feel like at this time and age white people wouldn’t even let him touch an instrument.

Spectacular! It's about time the world knows who Joseph is!

A great period film about one of the greatest violinists whose work was largely destroyed and lost until recently. The act balancing a life of limited proximity to whiteness while also trying to own one’s identity of being Black paired with musical talent is well-displayed.

It was very informative and tells yet another story of a person of color whose story impacted the world but was covered up to be forgotten. Happy his story could be shared as a contribution to the musical world

God I loved this film, amazing music, amazing story, one I had never heard before.
He wrote some of the most amazing symphonies and operas the world has seen and we’re only just rediscovering him now!

Loved it.

It took me 7 times to sit down and actually get through it. But the final time I actually was able to understand the art of each and every part of this inspired story. I know have to watch it 6 more times for my lack of judgement on an incredible written masterpiece well done !!

Enjoyed this movie. I love a good history piece. I knew nothing about him so it sparked my interest to look him up.

This movie is a must see! The violinist is spectacular, advancing in French society alongside other great musicians of his time.

Happy that his story was told but the movie itself was a bit boring.
