this movie really resonated with me on such a deep level - the final scene with sweet child of mine made me cry - a truly heartwarming story that had instantly cemented itself as an all time favorite of mine and a comfort movie for sure

it doesn’t float my boat. I usually gravitate toward stories where I get emotionally locked into characters. characters with a personality and ISSUES. these kids are copy paste versions of each other. they’re so boring and I really hate monotone movies. I was not moved by the storyline. why are we giving six year olds knifes? the dad is CONCERNING. I do not sympathize with him at all. this movie romanticizes extremism. raising your kids in the wilderness, isolating them socially, and giving them dangerous survival training does more harm than good, especially in this era. not one character feels unique. why are complex ideologies being forced onto developing brains? children are meant to play and socialize, not worry about finding an animal to hunt for their next meal

Captain Fantastic lived up to its name! Well, except the end. But loved it overall.

A family living off the grid that’s forced to mourn a death. An outstandingly beautiful film. Must must must watch.

The whitest white people shenanigans. But ALL of Viggo Mortensen. All.

Not sure if it’s because I was having a bad day, but this one hit far far harder than I would’ve expected. This is a beautiful movie with so much to say and it says those things so naturally.
It’s fun, it’s heartwarming and it’s purposeful.

Such a beautiful journey that perfectly encapsulates the soul crushing sadness and heartwarming joy that comes that comes with being in a family so close.

Genuinely a phenomenal movie. The more time I spent thinking about it after it finished, the more I loved every second of it. My favourite scene was where a girl was asked to describe her book and she does so in a way that I believes also describes the movie.

Meh
