Cape Fear
A disturbingly unsettling thriller, driven by stellar performances and a raw, intense atmosphere that makes you feel the tension. The film's gritty realism keeps you on edge, though the ending slightly weakens its impact, dimming its otherwise powerful presence.

DeNiro absolutely saved this film, he was superb. Maybe my favorite performance of his. Otherwise the story lacked texture, characters weren’t fleshed out and there were so many contrived and cliche moments (especially the end).
Not a great movie—but very tense & engaging

Grade A 90’s EdgeKino. Loved the dynamic lighting/water effects; This really is Irreversible done better, Scorsese is just that good at lighting (Scorsese does it to show tension, Noé does it to give the audience a headache). I miss old Robert De Niro. Plot details in pt2

7/10. Good. This is a good film that boasts an excellent performance and truly disturbing atmosphere/story. DeNiro obviously shines and is terrifying, and the writing is quite good. But the near the latter half it gets a bit wild and sort of devolved. Interesting religious theme

i liked the first one better. this one felt open ended and gratuitous but I did like that it opened with the feminine perspective

There were in fact no capes to be seen but plenty of fear
I had always heard good things about this and obviously if Scorsese directed it, it can’t be too bad. And it wasn’t! A solid 90’s thriller all around a unique story to go with it. De Niro was crazy good as Max Cady and it made for an exciting watch. Though I think Dani might have the worst decision making I’ve ever seen 😭

This movie showed very interesting yet raw scenarios that felt unfiltered which helped make De Niro feel so threatening. De Niro did a wonderful job playing a maniac, but not just a maniac an intelligent, manipulative maniac. The plot wasn’t bad but some scenes had dumb horror movie logic that was laughable at times. (6.1/10)

Robert dinero is horrific in a great acting way in this film I think in modern times this film is controversy waiting to happen but luckily it’s been out for decades captivating deep conversation cult classic by Scorsese and produced by Spielberg!

I liked the mini series better. It had more time to develop the characters.
