Bruce Campbell was great as always, but I went into this thinking it’d be him as Elvis fighting a mummy, with it being cheesy and ridiculous. And…although Elvis does fight a mummy, 70% of the film is him in a bed reminiscing about the past and making basic raunchy jokes

A surprisingly different execution than what the basic premise pitched was. Spending most of the movie reminiscing about the pseudo life of Elvis was unique, especially since they took it mostly seriously. I felt it lacked a lot of horror in any capacity though; felt sidelined.

I love Bruce Campbell so I figured I was in for a good time. Unfortunately, I didn’t love it and I was bored throughout its entire runtime. Maybe it’s because I was really tired and that’s why I didn’t appreciate it as much it deserved. Or maybe it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
