Wayyyyy better then taxi driver, i scream as they drag me away. If you want to see a visually and thematically dark Scorsese movie with a guy going crazy in nyc, this is the one. Taxi driver was definitely higher budget and had more symbolism and shit that people love to pick apart, but anytime I think about Travis bickle I just see all the incel dude bros who are “me fr”ing him and I get really pissed off. Which isn’t fully the fault of the movie but what can ya do. But yea this was great and it almost made we want to watch one of those first responder tv shows, but I know they wouldn’t be ANYTHING like this.

Martin Scorsese’s outlier film and one of Nic Cage’s best performances. I don't think I've seen a character more tired than him: perfectly fits in Paul Schrader’s depressively sad lonely men lore. Bing Rhames also the goat here.

Gotta be one of the more darker movies I’ve seen. It’s hard to articulate everything that happened. I’m shocked this movie doesn’t get brought up more when mentioning Scorsese.
