Before Sunset
"That's the thing with time, isn't it? It's not all the same. Some days - some years - some decades - are empty. There is nothing to them. It's just flat water. And then you come across a year, or even a day, or an afternoon. And it is everything. It is the whole thing."

Before Sunset
This feels very in the moment and extremely true to life. Probably the most natural you’ll see two people interact in one continuous sequence, literally just spending a beautiful sunny evening in Paris. More importantly, it really does expand and reveal the weight of their…

The realism of this movie and the way the entire story is told through nothing but a conversation between the two of them is absolutely beautiful. I’ve never found anything quite like it in any other movie.

I’m not sure if it was me adjusting, or if it did actually slowly disperse, but there started with this orange dream-like haze across the image that slowly reduced. Almost feeling like to me that this “idea” wasn’t just a dream, and more a reality.
Again, I’m late to the party and there’s nothing new I can add to the conversation - but man is the writing good. The film is just walking around pretty places and talking about life in retrospect, I weirdly found myself more relating to the panic and frustration of not being where they wanted to be in life than I did with the hopefulness of the first film - which is strange being I’m around the age of the characters in Sunrise than I am to them here in Sunset. Although I figure that speaks more to me and my general outlook above all…
The evolution of not just the characters, but Ethan and Julie themselves was actually pretty fascinating to witness. Both performances were pitch perfect and captured the essence of a “grown” version of what was crafted in Sunrise. They both bring so much charm and subtly to Jesse and Celine that make not only the characters themselves, but the world they wander through so lived-in.
Very excited to get a hold of Before Midnight, although it’s not on HBO MAX like the first two, so shall have to rent! Feel like I’m going to connect more with the inevitable pessimism in the finale.

Before Sunset
Una película que idealiza demasiado los amores fugaces, pero dentro de esa idealización se encuentran diálogos profundos que te hacen pensar el significado del amor, el paso de la vida y las relaciones.
