Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
People need to stop hiring Beetlejuice. He’s untrustworthy and, frankly, a trouble maker.

I loved this movie so much. I loved the music and I love beetlejuice. Even though I don’t particularly like Jenna Ortega (hot take, I know) I felt she played this role really well. From an objective standpoint, howeverrr… not Tim Burtons best work. You could tell there was a lot of care put into this movie, but the way the plots were all resolved felt quick and unsatisfying. Willem Dafoes character also felt really useless, but I still enjoyed it because it was funny.
Objectively: 6.5/10
Me personally: 9/10

Meh, the original was so much better in almost everything.
This one was messy, aimless and felt unfinished in a way you know. Burton could've done way more with a cast like this.
Thank god I'm not a huge fan, because I would be so pissed off if this was what I got after 37 years.

I loved how random and chaotic this movie was. It does a really good job of being a movie-ish movie without feeling super cliche, and I love the way the cartoonish parts mix with the rest of it. It almost reminds me of Bullet Train in the way that there was a bunch of different plots and the overall chaos, Bullet Train was a movie which I loved and I feel the same way about this. I have not watched the first movie, which i need to, so I don’t know if it’s the same as this one in that aspect, but it was really cool.
Overall it was a really enjoyable experience. It
was funny and strange, the effects were done really well and the cast is great.

So much wasted potential. Dolores should have been a really cool villain but they did nothing with her? Defoe was unnecessary and added nothing. Lydia’s husband was unnecessary. Her character was off brand. So much more to say about this sloppy film but no more space.

good acting / actors, CGI was well done - only downside is that it takes half the movie to get to the interesting part

Pretty solid sequel although the main villain could’ve been scrapped from this movie and it would have still worked lol she really did nothing the entire time and had no real influence on the plot
Effects were similar in style to the original which I enjoyed, the comedy was hit or miss but when it hit I got a good laugh from it
Decent soundtrack aswell
Was never gonna top the original but it holds up 👍🏼

no, but really, it was a fantastic sequel and even if you haven’t seen the first; you can easily understand why it’s a classic. There is nothing like beetlejuice- and it just has the best storyline and sets. It also celebrates weird people, which I love.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
A directionless, lifeless, jumbled mess of a fever-dream. There is a singular scenario in the film, that if developed correctly could have been the premise of the entire movie. But instead we got unnecessary characters and multiple poorly developed plots. The first was a fun cult classic with bright spots of originality. This was a failed sequel. If I had to list highlights…fun use of claymation and Catherine O’Hara.
