Beautiful Boy
Truly heartbreaking. I’m amazed by how they were able to evoke the horrible feeling of watching someone consistently hurt themselves, but you can do nothing about it. I also loved that they never vilify Nic.

TW! Beautiful Boy. The most beautiful movie I’ve seen in years. Story about family and the struggles addiction causes to the addict and loved ones. “Have you seen my son? Have you seen my beautiful boy? Tell him I miss him.” TEARSSSSS! Tissue WARNING!

You absolutely will ball your eyes out about 20 times.
The monster’s gone,
He’s on the run,
And your daddy’s here,
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful boy.
Genuinely such a gut wrenching, heart throbbing movie and it actually teaches you about the terrors behind drugs.

An intense rollercoaster of emotion is what I call this movie, as well as a PSA to all those with subsistence addictions. However, I can’t help to take an interest in the father and how his love of his son impacted his blended family, and he had to make a detrimental choice.

This was so tragic. Challenging to watch. It was fantastic though. Amazing performances from all actors. Just so raw and real. Gave you a lot of perspectives and gives you a lot to think about after it’s over. The very end had me in tears. Beautiful film.

Great film that pulls no punches. Chamalet and Steve Carrell are both great here. It’s a true life story that’s very well written. It’s powerful stuff that shows how drugs can destroy peoples life’s. A really good hard hitting drama

this was beautifully done and incredibly heartbreaking. it really showcased how much addiction impacts people's lives in such a tragic way,and the fact that it's a true story made it hit so much harder.the cinematography was absolutely gorgeous, and the colouring was so well done.

This movie had potential, good performances, emotional moments and subject matter, but I just don't think the directing does it justice. Half the film is a jumble of flashbacks and music sequences, which is very disengaging. Some odd music choices and seemingly pointless scenes.

Wow what an amazing movie, I don’t think i’ve ever really seen a movie that captures so well the damage that something like this causes for everyone involved
The acting was top notch too, really just a great movie
I felt the sadness and disappointment the dad was feeling at every beat and eventually I gave up on Nic as well and just knew he was going to relapse again
I want to say the only nitpick I have is some of the cuts make it a little bit confusing to know what point in time the event is taking place however I highly recommend this movie

Insane acting. Heart wrenching in a way that is so accurate and unfortunately so common. It really touched my heart 🥲

5/5 this is a perfect representation of drug abuse that isn’t romanize, it feels raw you see the struggles and the grief the user and loved ones go through because of drug abuse
