6.6 - it’s campy & everything about it is unhinged: the costumes, the hair/makeup, the dialogue, the acting from Devito, Pfeiffer, and Walken, & the Tim Burton-ness of the whole thing. It’s also dark thematically. But it’s shallow (esp MK) & far from the “Batman” I picture.

The best thing about this movie compared to the first one is that there is no Vicki Vale.

Personally, this Batman movie is the best ever. The cast is fantastic. The mood of every scene in this film is dark, creepy and reminds me so much of the comics. And then Michelle Pfeiffer. Her transition into Catwoman and the way she portrays her: is chefs kiss for me. Best ever

i think having a campy and dark tone for batman works so well
this was ridiculous and over the top and i really enjoyed it
the villains were really great and i loved the stylization
had a lot going on without it feeling like too much

this is a low exposure movie so you might want to watch it at night. love how its lowkey dark macabre like the comics.
just wow, the dynamics of batman & catwoman, bruce and selina, when the realization hits. this is a beautiful and funny movie cuz man penguin/oswald is funny😭

6/10 good visuals and quite interesting at times, but it got boring cuz the story just didn’t seem to go anywhere.

What is it that makes this film so special? In Batman Returns, the villains The Penguin (Danny DeVito), Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Max Shreck (Christopher Walken) were quite good as the main leads. Tim Burton's scenery and vision are great, making Gotham City look like a fantastic place and full of mystery at the same time. Michael Keaton as Batman is my favorite, although I admit that suit doesn't favor him; it doesn't let him turn his head without turning his whole body 🤣

Burton’s Gotham in winter is one of my favorite versions of it.
Penguin is a decent villain:
He is cartoonishly evil but something is missing from the character.
He often feels less like a villain and more like a joke.
Cat-woman is a standout in this movie:
I love that she gets an actual arc and isn’t just a random add on.
Something is missing from this movie.
