I only watched this for my film class and lord I thought it was boring. All im ancient language so u have to read subtitles. It’s like reading a boring book and movie at the same time. 4.8/10

the fact I could feel and understand exactly what was happening and having no subtitles for most of it just shows you how well it was crafted

Brutally vivid depictions of life before the terrible colonization even started. Maybe not completely accurate however not false either. Heartbreaking when the children are on screen ,personally, still loved this movie since childhood

Too much rape and shit, and big guy should've had a bigger role. Also should've cropped the walk to the temple. Very gruesome though, hard to watch.
Also chick gave birth underwater, funny. My kid cousin died when I dropped him on his dumb head. A baby can't be born underwater.

Inaccurate or not, this is a fantastic movie that provides great on-site on ancient Mayan history.

KINOOOOOOOOO! Mel Gibson, certified Pattern Noticer, has created an excellent work. Just the cinematography should be a masterclass, really great work; Even if you don’t like it, you will like looking at it. You don’t even have to go in blind, you literally won’t understand it.

completely racist by diminishing mayan culture to harmful stereotypes. it is “history” written through the perspective of a racist white man who knows nothing of the culture

Good ass movie

Although it’s not entirely historically accurate, Apocalypto is indubitably Mel Gibsons best film as it’s incredibly immersive and a blood pumping thrill from start to finish. 7.5/10
