had a hard time grasping this film’s themes, can anyone help 😓

follows the book fairly well, but left out some scenes i felt should’ve been in there. decent for the 50s for sure. loved the animation & score. chilling

It’s was pretty good but wasn’t on par with the book at all, they cut out scenes that were in my opinion very important and they changed the ending of the movie to make it “happier”. I did really like the animation and music

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

I see this movie as completely separate from the book in terms of the messages that Orwell was trying to communicate. Not only did it completely remove all of the female animals, like Clover who was so very important, it made certain aspects comically exaggerated. I found this movie and its changes to be another form of propaganda rather than a genuine adaptation. Though, some things were done decently. The horror of boxer’s death was sickeningly sad. That’s about all the movie did right. I could see how Orwell’s books have been misconstrued over the decades based on countless very incorrect adaptations. This being one of them.

Good very interesting movie. The animation was good for the time. But the story is so genius really love it and the story telling was also really good.

Pretty dark with some wild moments (pun not intended)

Animation and fights are really nice. A lot of story is missing, pacing if weird, character development is missing for everyone. Only good scenes are the song and reading of commandments. 4/10

For an adaptation of the book, it’s fine. It loses points for the ending change. Could’ve been longer and kept more scenes in too.

This film completely captivated me. The story flows perfectly, the characters feel real, and the emotions hit hard. Every scene, every soundtrack moment, felt right. A movie that stays with you long after it ends—truly unforgettable.

I haven’t read the book so I can’t compare the two but I really enjoyed watching this movie. I already knew their revolution was going to take a dark turn but I was not expecting to see a mass execution or for Boxer to end up being sent to a glue factory. All animals are equal…

been seeking to read this book for a while now. and i accidentally found the film first. so on a whim i decided to seize that opportunity. this story is genuinely superb. it’s such a simple concept yet such a deeper meaning and calling to it. fantastic.
