Pretty good, reminds me of Jurassic Park actually. Jon Voight is amazing, might still be alive. The native people at the end are going to sacrifice them to the snake gods lol

One of those horror films that intends to be serious, scary, and bloody, but turns out laughably hokey. One never questions the realism of the remarkable animatronic and computer-generated effects, but it's hard to credit a snake that screams.

I can’t with this. Cheesy. Absurd. Screaming snakes. Jon Voight’s mafia gangster accent is so odd. No one has any situational awareness.

It’s B movie with A listers. Terrible.

Iconic 90s horror/action. I love JV in this movie with goofy accent and all. The snakes look great

Childhood classic. It’s definitely corny, but a fun watch either way. Scared the hell out of me when I was younger.

I hate snakes

Fun and very entertaining.

I expected a standard 90s thriller, but the mix of practical animatronics and unhinged acting makes it a wild B-movie trip.

What Worked:
Blending mechanical snakes with practical locations gave the film a terrifying weight. Jon Voight’s scenery-chewing makes his human villain as dangerous as the monster. Seeing him constantly sacrifice lives for a massive payday reinforced my Methodist beliefs about prioritizing human life and grace over selfish ambition.

The Cuts:
The middle part really dragged for me with the crew just bickering on the boat. Also, the 90s CGI really took me out of it; the snake moves awkwardly when it’s not a physical puppet. Keeping it spoiler-free, Voight’s accent gave me total tonal whiplash, making it super hard to take his serious threats seriously.

Verdict:
A fun, cheesy creature feature. Great for B-movie thrills, but definitely skip it if you hate bad CGI and slow pacing.

Favorite Line: “They strike, wrap around you. Hold you tighter than your true love.”

I was expecting sharknado levels of film, I actually liked this movie, especially the cast. The thrilling aspects and pace really stood well, good watch.
