Alien: Romulus
Bafflement and bewilderment. This may just be one of the best in the entire franchise. Mr. Alvárez knew exactly how to take full advantage of the resources given to him. From cheesy 80s-style catchphrases to the stark silent cinematography. Ridley and Ripley brought us to this world way back, WHEN? Romulus takes the best qualities of each Alien movie and rebirths them into one collective masterpiece. Terror, love, guilt, anger, sadness, fear, hope, you could taste the adrenaline coming off the cast. My ears and eyes got shredded by the sound, set, and costume design. Pure cinema, at its peak.

Alien: Romulus
It was way too slow to start, the characters make some of the worst decisions possible, and the only one who was thinking logically was vilified for saving lives. Too few jump scares. But this movie would be SCARY AF for someone with arachnophobia. And that ENDING though? 🔥🔥🔥

This movie was some weirdos sexual fantasy. Bad pacing. Mid script. Mid acting.
Spoiler: no pregnant men ☹️☹️

Good add to the Alien franchise. A little obvious fan service at times. Needed captions for some of the heavy Brit accents & slang, got more into the characters as the movie progressed. Top visuals, like the rings of the planet as the ship moved closer. One too many alien births.

This was weird. Some gooners sex dream brought to the big screen. Not even in the funny way. Go to therapy man nobody wants to see that.

Huge alien fan and this is a welcomed addition to the franchise
From the start of the movie the tone was set that this was going to be scarier than what we’ve been getting lately and man did they deliver
If I were to name a the few cons I have with this movie then they’d probably be the face cgi on the one robot and the obvious attempt at trying to make the main character “badass” like Ripley (you’ll never be Ripley, its like trying to get someone new to play Wolverine) but this second con is just my opinion and i’m sure plenty of people saw her as badass
I don’t want to even say much besides go and see this in theaters right now for great alien experience
The one review saying this movie is slow has a severe case of TikTok brain, sorry the start didn’t contain 50 million vine sound effects

Was it as good as the first, no way. Is it predictable yes. But has it's own charm. My biggest complaint is the Aliens aren't that terrifying.

definitely the best alien of the franchise imo. it’s a thrill for survival, you will definitely get the creeps especially if your arachnophobia like me. fucking chills down my spine. the cinematography was insanely gorgeous, the production design was bonkers, the vfx, sfx, & score were phenomenal. it gets better & better. cailee & david performed spectacular. loved the cast. wow that was one really ugly fucking baby haha. 9 / 10

Now that’s what I’m talking about. This is one of the more disturbing films that I’ve watched; my mouth was open in genuine shock and disgust throughout. This is just what I like to see. Yucky.

Good film, you only need to watch the first alien movie story wise. Could follow the narrative easily, some nice shockers in it.

7.7 - This is shockingly only my second watch of the Alien franchise. And I still had a good time. There’s parts I still recognized as easter eggs/call backs never watching the rest. There’s exposition that I’m sure would have been a little cleaner with more of a baseline understanding of the universe. But overall it’s a bloody, gory, suspenseful monster chase through space & that’s fun. And I’m guessing the ending was a big risk & may piss some diehards off (?) but I just thought “no waaay” & “hell yeah.” The cinematography & set design were beautiful, some of the best outer space work I’ve seen in years. I’m all in on the Cailee Spaeny hype train. And the music & pacing kept it moving and pretty immersive, almost video game like. I really don’t know how it will compare to the franchise as a whole or how Alien die hard feel about it but I say hell yeah, let’s watch more.
