Alien: Covenant Reviews

Visually, the Alien franchise has improved tremendously. Contextually (if that's the right word), it misses more than it hits. 'Prometheus' gave us pace with a worthwhile story and some smart plot twists. 'Covenant', on the other hand, gives us a washed-out story with some insanly predictable plot points. It felt extremely fast-paced with action but draggingly slow paced with context or connection. The cgi, casting, and score were mediocre at best. Wasted story, wasted characters, and wasted visuals, but I'm not that bothered as I didn't feel connected anyway.

anyway. such a letdown after the perfection that was Prometheus. 3/10

I mean the ending was kinda obvious but still a good movie.

You can tell David was made too human-like because he’s so evil and immoral and self absorbed and emo. This was fun! Good scares, very philosophical conversations, nice visual effects and body horror, and a really cool prequel to the xenos we know and love! (I lowkey hate em tho)

Guess the first time in theathre I loved it. Just rewatched it on blu-ray. Got all the clues this time. So yeah good movie but not the best imo

Overall I think it’s slightly more put together. Story (although pretty predictable) feels more cohesive. Acting is decent. Fassbender carries the movie. No questions were answered but the story continued without hiccups. All this just slightly gives it an edge over Prometheus. Except visually and score wise, of course.

This was good, but I still have some unanswered questions. David was giving me the creeps. I didn’t like any of the other characters except for the synthetics. Some things were a bit random. What the hell was James Franco doing there?

everyone in this movie was unrealistically stupid and the cgi sucked. worse than Romulus. WARNING JAMES FRANCO IS IN THIS. do with that what you will.

Great movie. 7/10

Alien series are infamous for its stupid character, and thankfully it showed less here. The lore was explained further and actions were much prioritised compared to its forerunner. The second ending always gets me, and this tradition should be glorified of course.

I’m disappointed that this movie didn’t follow up the loose ends left in Prometheus. I’m left with WAY more questions. Also, just like in Prometheus, I couldn’t stand the characters’ dumb decision making. The visuals were great but the ending “twist” was extremely predictable

That was a lot better than I anticipated! Very scary and interesting twists. I really enjoyed this one and the cast was great

Good but still leaves me with questions. Hopefully Romulus rounds it out.

Ist halt ein weitere Alien Film. Die originalen Filme waren noch besonderes doch jetzt ist die Story ein wenig ausgelutscht. War schön zu sehen, aber für eine Fortsetzung müsse man sich mal was Neues einfallen lassen.

The most mid Alien movie. At this point the series just feels repetitive.

L' ho trovato davvero piatto, per quanto le scenografie e le inquadrature siano fantastiche non è riuscito minimamente a prendermi, tutti i colpi di scena sono telefonatissimi e la lore non avanza di un centimetro a parer mio.
Peccato mi aspettavo un po' di più da Ridley Scott

Prometheus proves to be the best alien since the original however this film managed to Top Prometheus too. The characters in this had far better dynamics and interesting chemistry than previously seen. And a quick side note, Danny McBride stole this film for me.

I love all the Alien movies/shows. So I guess I might be a bit biased lol. But it's a great watch and I hope everyone who watches enjoys it too
