Glad the cat survived lol

Ahead of its time.

i loved ripley and her cat and the xenomorph so much, there’s so many creative and iconic scenes in this with the face huggers and the chest bursters and they look really cool, some of the ship design is kinda random and goofy for me but it’s not that distracting

I loved the cat

Who tf would think that taking a cat, moreover an orange cat to space is a good idea ?🙀😹
I’m too old to be impressed and too young to understand my parents hype about it.
It is iconic for its age but still lacking in other ways.
6/10.

Watched this while on a date with the man of my dreams so this invokes good vibes for me 🤭

One of if not the best sci-fi horror movies ever made. Still holds up great and it’s a perfect example of how practical effects truly make a movie timeless.

atleast they kept the cat alive

Jaws in space. This movie is pure sci-fi horror perfection. Rarely has there ever been a more perfect anxiety-inducing deep space suspense movie. Top 100 films all time without a doubt. All hail Sigourney Weaver as my favorite cinematic hero, Lt Ellen Ripley.

I wish I had seen this before watching the Romulus remake thing because I already knew what was gonna happen from the start.
Anyways, that doesn't make it any less good, deserves the "one of the best sci-fi" hype.

Ripley is an amazing character. Sigourney found the perfect balance between control, exhaustion, survival, and drama. Just like how Ridley found the perfect balance of sci-fi, horror, and drama. The drama from the horror and the horror from the Sci-Fi. I kept asking myself, "Who or what is THE villian?" We are kept in the unknown from the beginning to the very end, and the tension that builds is extraordinary. The editing was clunky, but the production was immense. The cgi was awful as expected, but the sound design makes you feel much more. A film that could be made at any time in history.

After so many years later, this movie still holds up as one of the most classic and popular horror films to date. Everything in this movie, the sound, the visuals, the atmosphere, the attention to detail, everything still holds up to this day. Little cheesy, but amazing. 10/10

You have to appreciate the classics. A series must start somewhere. This is slow and at least for first hour, boring. What do you expect for 1979? Just glad our technology has come to what it is now and can only get better. Which thankfully means the movies get better as well.

The worldbuilding here is insane. I got too scared so I skipped forward a bunch of times in my phone. Could not handle the stomach scene.

I LOVE that Ripley is SMART. These monster movies always seem to instigate bc the leader did a stupid. But not Ripley. Very good. Scary scary

Alien will scare the peanuts right out of your M&M's. It was about time someone made a science-fiction thriller that thrills... and just boils everything down to the pure, ravishingly vulgar essence of fright.

Stanley Kubrick calling Ridley Scott 📞

Kubrick: “It’s Stanley Kubrick”
Scott: “Fuck off!”
Kubrick: “No, it’s Stanley Kubrick… How did you bring the creature out of the guy’s chest? It scared the shit out of me”

fun thriller. tense

Der Film war für seiner Zeit bestimmt supper, leider hat er mich heute nicht so abgeholt.
Die meisten der Figuren hatten eine unausstehliche Persönlichkeit.
Aber Riddly war ganz in Ordnung.

Good, but not my genre

I don’t get it I only watched the last half
