i loved ripley and her cat and the xenomorph so much, there’s so many creative and iconic scenes in this with the face huggers and the chest bursters and they look really cool, some of the ship design is kinda random and goofy for me but it’s not that distracting

Liked this a lot, the way it’s aged and some poor acting and fight scenes hold it back from being a movie I love. But for the times it’s very very good. Sigourney Weaver is great, the story is very interesting and the alien has a very cool design. I did not see the twist coming where the scientist was a robot. It was genuinely scary at times and I can see how this was a big win for Ridley Scott

Sigourney weaver & crew are on a ship headed back to earth when the earth’s computer system “Mother” alerts them of life nearby. They land on a planet to investigate another crashed ship and find corpses and eggs on the ship. One of the eggs hatch and latch on to a crew member. They bring him back onto the ship and leave the planet. Eventually the life form detaches from his face and dies and he seems fine. But then an alien pops out of his chest and runs away. This morphs into the Xenomorph and kills the members on the ship one by one. Then it’s revealed the scientist on the ship is a robot and has been sabotaging the crew and his only task from mother is to bring back the alien and keep it alive. So the crew destroys the robot. Everyone is killed but Sigourney and the cat who get away on a pod before the ship self destructs. But the Xenomorph was on the pod but she manages to open a door and get it out of the pod
