Subtle yet haunting. It’s a slow and delicate movie and even though the ending seems really quiet, it punches you in the gut with emotions once you put the whole picture together.

This one should’ve taken home academy awards best picture without a doubt. 🏆

Aftersun is one of those movies that after you watched it you just sit in silence and cry afterwards. :(

This movie hurts in one of the best ways. Having a loss of someone important in your life because of depression and suicide can be difficult. Aftersun reminds us that it is always more complicated than we think. Survivor’s guilt is never fun.

this was incredible. as i was watching, it felt like something was going to happen but it was only after finishing it that i realised how much did happen. this movie thrives on subtlety and tension while also maintaining a strong storyline for those who didnt pick up on the hints

Such an incredibly beautiful film in ever way, I literally can't think of anything that this movie didn't do perfectly. This film is feels so raw, capturing both the innocence of a child and the struggles of a parent in this modern day masterpiece. 10/10

me encanta la relación de complicidad y confianza que tienen, la película se siente como un buen ULTIMO recuerdo de ambos combinado con nostalgia y tristeza, diría que algunas escenas la dejan a interpretación de cada quién
good soundtrack y bonita cinematografía también 🧚

i feel like this movie was overhyped because i thought it was going to be extremely sad and the best movie of all time but it was pretty slow paced. not bad tho

a depressing “slice of life” type movie. pretty boring and i agree with the charge that it’s “too artsy for its own good.” the writing was slightly pretentious which surprised me and made it difficult to take seriously. but i can see the value it may potentially hold for some.

Movie looks good in terms of the aesthetic and colors being used but I’d say that’s about it. Oh actually the acting was quite good.

Explores the ideas of depression and is based on the directors life, I’m not the ideal audience but I could see it being powerful to some.

Aftersun

Aftersun is torturously slow but the pace is necessary for the impact of its ending. It cuts deep, especially having experienced those emotions. It creates a type of pain you don’t see coming until you’re watching this man unfold and fall apart right in front of your eyes. 8.4/10

I felt very calm watching this so that was nice and I enjoyed listening to their accents, but looking back it was not worth the 102 minutes of my life.

Such a unique and heartbreaking way to tell this story.
Immediately after the film I was ready to give this a meh as it was a slow burn and I felt I had missed a large part of the message. ~5 mins later I realized what happened, and I honestly wish I hadn’t.

So slow, with little to no payoff. If Paul mescal wasn't in this I don't think I would've sat through the whole thing. 2-3 minute scenes of Paul mescal smoking made me feel as depressed as he was.
