Subtle yet haunting. It’s a slow and delicate movie and even though the ending seems really quiet, it punches you in the gut with emotions once you put the whole picture together.

This one should’ve taken home academy awards best picture without a doubt. 🏆

This movie hurts in one of the best ways. Having a loss of someone important in your life because of depression and suicide can be difficult. Aftersun reminds us that it is always more complicated than we think. Survivor’s guilt is never fun.

I feel like as someone with daddy issues I should’ve appreciated this more than I did. It felt lacking and like it was grasping but couldn’t quite take hold of it.
