Beyond bad, I don't even want to write a review for it. It isn't a horror or a thriller, more so the opposite of an antidepressant. Pretty sure the whole thing is by AI, shame it's not credited. I hope this gets deleted when AI grows conscious. Blumhouse needs a new motherboard because their catalogue is to the brim with these regurgitated repeat recipes.

Saw it before release, they didn’t change anything and I thought they might. It wasn’t good

4.9 - Exactly what I thought: grown up DCOM Smart House. I guess this exceeded expectations, but that’s almost disappointing.

Cho & Waterston both deliver performances that kept this afloat. They were both strong, as they usually are. The premise was as bad as expected. It presented almost no new ideas, or even twists on the common AI concerns. But the leaps it takes from one idea to the next come at such a breakneck pace & are almost so completely unrealistic that it toes the line of hard to follow. Then it’s capped off with an absurd enough climax & twist reveal that any bit of tension that was earned through the first 75% was killed for me.
I would have preferred it leaned so far into the absurd for the entire run time, or risked enough to present something new, even if it was dumb, that it could have been fun. Instead this sits squarely in meh territory, & I will likely never give it another pass. We collectively need to start holding Blumhouse accountable for the inconsistency.

Won’t be surprised if this movie became a reality 🥲. Decent film tho

An uneven and unfinished Tech Thriller built on a prescient invention but missing a supporting cast of 3D characters and several scenes that failed to load.

A good version of the recent Blumhouse clichés. Great acting by the mom and dad and I overall had a good time. Still just felt like a lesser version of M3GAN and the masks were really stupid. Overall, it was good and a nice surprise based on recent Blumhouse products.

Not terrible. Definitely felt rushed but I like the concept

A clumsy cautionary tale about technology that ironically feels like it was written by an actual AI. It jumped between family melodrama and hollow horror tropes without ever delivering real scares. It completely wasted a talented cast on a surface-level thriller.

It’s not amazing, but it’s also not crap. Other films with very similar stories are not as good as this one, but I don’t think I’d particularly go out of my way to watch it again too soon.
