i love the nonlinear structure and how the creative process is depicted, it’s painfully relatable and real
it breaks all the rules to show that you can break them and still tell such a profound story
i was touched by so many scenes in this, the acting and writing was captivating

An original film about a screenwriter’s hardships while writing an adaptation of a book about orchids. Nicolas Cage is hilarious and deep and the rest of the cast are just as good. The movie is insane and cleverly written as well. I give this film 5 Cages out of 5.

A 3rd act that took a massive turn & a man living inside his own head for too long.
P.S: Meryl Streep is such a talented human being, an actress that can always move me!

The premise of this film really captured my attention. The story is great and dare I say genius. It’s an original idea with great execution and most importantly, proof that Nicholas Cage can act.

THE MOST META EVER🤯🤯🤯🤯. But for real though how do you even do that is this real I’m so gagged that was so good. Glad I watched being John malkovich a while ago, which wasn’t super necessary to understand the plot but it definitely added to appreciating the meta-ness of it all. (Saying meta makes me sound like such a jerkoff but I really don’t know how else to describe it 😭😭). Really great performances from everyone in this, nic cage of course, and crazy crazy good script. Brian cox is really so scary I love him. Uhg it’s all just so good. I know Charlie Kaufman played fucking crazy elaborate make believe as a kid. And the way half of the stuff like he’s making fun of Donald for using to make his screen play, are used in this movie too like the trick photography thing and merging genres too, the meta has layers there’slayerstothisshit 🤯🤯🤯. This is just so weird and the non linear back and forth shit I love and I just love all of it. In the least corny and pretentious way, because i truly don’t know THAT much about movies at all really, i feel like this was a movie for people who love movies and all the shit that goes into making them. Cause I’d watch that shit as a movie if it was just exactly how this guys writing process went honestly but then it somehow turns into a thriller??? And it’s also exploring really complex emotional themes?? What more could I want. Makes me want to read the book to see if it’s any good. I’ve been known to enjoy a book or movie that doesn’t have much happening plot wise so.

If there was an award for Nicolas Cages’s presence in a movie, this film would receive two of these awards.

It’s a good movie, if you like meta movies and Nicolas Cage. Meryl Streep is great as always, and her love interest in the story is pretty good too.

Never thought I’d give this a high rating after seeing clips from the movie. although a few scenes were sort of odd in some ways I loved the messaging overall!

This movie’s poster has had me intrigued for years. I knew absolutely nothing about it. There were a couple of stars that I were surprised to see starring in this. As for the story, it really wasn’t for me, I was mostly bored the entire time and couldn’t wait for it to end.

It was all over the place but I love that Nicolas Cage’s character was a screenplay writer supported by Meryl Streep and Tilda Swinton.

Super clever, meta, and about of a mindf@&$, but also has something I think everyone can relate to with Charlie’s feelings of inadequacy and self doubt.

Nick Cage kills this role as a narcotic screenplay writer, but also as his twin brother who is charismatic and funny. It’s a movie about making a movie with an unexpected ending. No dull moments in this one!
