In this case you can see it coming from really far away, but it's an OK(-ish) story

This movie was pure escapism, with just enough tension, plenty of family focus, and of course, some highland dancing woven in. And let’s not forget the castle—a truly spectacular setting! Honestly, who wouldn’t want to spend the holidays tucked away in a magical castle? The breathtaking castle and cozy town created the perfect Christmas backdrop. Then, just as you’re swooning over it all, the story ups the ante: imagine discovering the castle actually belongs to your family, and suddenly, you could be a Duke or Duchess!
The brother-sister dynamic was a refreshing change from the typical romance-driven Hallmark formula. It felt genuine, especially since the actors have played siblings for years. Their bond and development really came through.
I also appreciated Brad and Sarah’s storyline—the way their relationship grew felt natural and sweet, giving a nice balance of family and romance.
Some of my favorite touches were the playful nods for longtime fans: Salinger’s pub with Charlie behind the bar, and Will Kemp as Thomas—especially knowing he’s played Lacey’s love interest before. Those little winks made it even more fun to watch.

Party of Five fans, rejoice! Lacey Chabert and Scott Wolf reunite for this Hallmark movie. Suspend reality, grab crackers to go with the cheese, and be transported to Scotland for this feel-good holiday film.
