This movie has single handedly brought me out of movie review retirement. I had to buy the premium version so I could rant for even longer. Words don’t describe my disappointment, I mean the same franchise of this movie 18 years ago released a banger, had a great plot really immersed the watcher. As for this movie it felt like I walked too far into 4th street on halloween and a cracked out mom decided it’d be a good idea to bring her kid to downtown Austin. I’ve seen that movie before and not impressed. Anyways, this movie didn’t even seem relatable to the previous movies and with a trilogy that puts a damper on things, the zombies were hardly as aggressive and bloody, the plot of the kid going out to get a kill was genuinely so pointless, and then the ending… the ending. I’m almost not interested in the slightest, why a group of drag show ninjas appeared but it genuinely put the nail in the coffin by dismantling the entire scary/ mysteriousness perspective of the movie. Again there was no plot, no jump at you scenes, way less gore and WAY more hog, movie doesn’t even compare to 28 weeks later, honestly the movie didn’t even have anything to do with 28 years later, I saw a comment that it should have been called 28 inches later and that about sums up this hairy Johnson of a movie, and really what’s up with Europeans and making movies with so much hog? Place has got to be a sausage fest. Anyways this movie wasn’t good and stayed up so late for nothing but to feel like I got hammered slapped in the face by the alpha.

it was somewhat entertaining but the plot was horrid, ending was comically horrid, and like there were so many things that just made 0 sense logically

First 10min were better than TLOUS02. Best looking of the three so far, and arguably the best acted. But I'll still hold the first as my fave for its impact. I'm excited to see where we go with the next 2 films, but hopefully they keep up the quality during shifting directors.

brilliant. masterful use of sound design. Once again, the restrained yet imaginative cinematography puts you right in the character's shoes.

A morbidly poetic take on a family story in the 28 world. Themes of tragedy and sadness are my least favourite personally which this has - but it's done well.
Fantastic characters, thrilling infected, and sets up this as the first film in a new trilogy.
Would recommend.

Not entirely sure what I expected, but this was not it (in a good way). The first, second, and third act all felt like totally different movies. There’s some really great acting, but I felt the horror aspect was lacking slightly unlike the first movie.

I feel like atp they should’ve just made a different zombie movie bc it really didn’t feel connected to 28 days or 28 weeks
Like what happened to the cure children
I feel like it should’ve at least been mentioned
Also crazy how they took the hot guy from sinners and nuked his image with a blonde wig and a Sue Sylvester tracksuit
Also I remember yall talking a lot more about zombie dicks when I feel like there was only one real clear zombie dick that ever came in focus
Did I think it made sense for the zombies to be naked or to be pregnant?
well no
But they made that choice and it came out how it did
It was sweet that the baby was named isla though

Genius work! Finaly zombies that evolve with a positive leader and learn how to coexist with nature! I hope the ninja turtles closing this masterpiece kill the hope in another movie in this cinematic universe.

fuckkkk, really disappointed ngl.
from being scared shitless of 28 days & 28 weeks later to seeing zombies with dicks and tits out in 28 years later was not on my bingo card.
look, the cinematography, the set design, & landscapes are remarkable… but holy hell, this has nothing to do with the previous movies.
the momento mori concept and the tower of skulls was dope as fuck tho.
i really liked it visually, but storytelling was complete garbage imo. kinda surprised since alex garland ( who wrote warfare, which i fucking loved ) wrote this film. makes zero sense to me.
those english ninjas in the ending, were the cherry on top to the nonsense of the writing. i was confused as fuck, yes he’s the boy with the cross from the beginning of the film, but why the fuck does he have a squad of ninja turtles
idk man, i liked it but i hated the story so much.
7 / 10

Assså ja älskar ju zombie filmer, och den va verkligen inte dålig men hade så höga förväntningar. Och tyckte de blev lite luddigt mot slutet men ändå en bra zombie film, många bra scener 😍 9,2/10

As a fan of the whole franchise it beat my expectations and I had my expeditions high but I will say they did take a different route with it but I still loved considering this is the first part of a new trilogy I’d say it’s did its job and hits the mark 9.5/10
