Tokyo Vice

This series is old school detective drama, the different story lines and how they mix make it great. Probably doesn’t get the love it deserves since its mostly in Japanese with subs.

Honestly was a miss for me, relied on the neo-noir tropes too much. Also didn’t wrap up any of the season’s issues without renewal for a second season?? The soundtrack was bomb tho

the character development is phenomenal.

especially sato. wow. god idk why i absolutely loved sato. his determination, his falls, his redemptions, how he cared deeply for his oyabun. the best character in the entire show imo.

cinematography, camera work, focus pulling, color pallet, sound design, are all astounding. could haven not looked better visually. so beautifully shot.

crazy part is i started this show right before flying to tokyo for the first time & god how much i love & respect japanese culture.

haven’t checked if there’s going to be a szn iii. i pray there will be. it’s just incredible.

if you love japan, crime, drama, thriller… i could not recommend a show more than this. it’s just so well written, shot, produced, directed.

only thing that bothered me truly… was watching to gay guys fuck. that pissed me off. if it weren’t for that. it would be perfect. not homophobic. but come on. no one wants to see that shit.

loved it tho. still an incredible show.
