All white writers making characters say racist things feels so weird and the fact that people try to justify it is very telling. An extremely mismanaged season. Great promotion but mediocre show. Felt like hardly anything happened at all. So much buildup to nothing.

Honestly speaking, iwtv is 10 tvl is 7/8. Love Lestat but I had no idea what he was on this whole season. Lacked the queerness and honestly diversity as whole compared to iwtv.
But Sam did amazing. Still a great show. Captivating. Funny. Dramatic. Witchcrafty. Love it. Make more.

A chaotic season but a good one. Thankfully there will be a Akasia season

4/5 - wow that was.. uh.. something !

I’ll start off by saying Sam Reid was once again fucking incredible, and truly bodied every single detail of Lestat - he truly knows how to steal every scene he is in, and as always his chemistry with Jacob Anderson (and most others) was off the charts.

Onto my main thoughts:

My favourite scenes/ moments were mostly made up of the flashbacks we got throughout the season, as they leant themselves back a lot more into the tone & style of s1 & 2. I also loved getting a better look into Lestat’s past, his relationships with his family & his maker, and how he ended up the beautiful mess he is. His dynamic with his band was very fun too, and although I’m not a big fan of singing in shows, the music never missed. I also appreciated the glimpses of loustat we got (always a win in my eyes).

For me, the overarching story of this season was good and I enjoyed most of it, however I think the thing I struggled with most is how tonally different it is from the previous seasons. It took me quite a few episodes to get settled into the new flow and vibes of everything. There were also some dynamics I was not so keen on - I thought I had prepared myself enough for Gabrielle, however I most definitely did not (although this was not the only one I had issue with).

Anyway, to finish up. Overall I did enjoy tvl a lot. Many moments had me on the edge of my seat, gasping, laughing & crying (which I always hope for from iwtv), but it didn’t quite live up to the first two seasons for me. I did however prepare myself for this outcome, and so didn’t feel that let down by this - it was still a very solid show for me, and I will definitely be watching again.

this felt like pure (unnecessary) louis torment sometimes. armand felt a little cartoon-y come episode 7. good but i wasn’t as engaged as seasons 1 and 2. hope qotd will pick up better than this has

loved the overstimulation though I did prefer Louis’s narration honestly. also WHY WAS ALL THE DEVILS MINION STUFF BEHIND THE SCENES??? ALSO WHERE TF WAS AKASHA??!! overall I loved this and my dramatic sassy vampires
