The Sympathizer Reviews

I’m not a history/war buff but I do appreciate doses of education & good quality entertainment based on factual events/historical moments. This is a fair & unique perspective to the Vietnamese (American) war w an emphasis of struggle in the duality of man from a communist pov. 💛❤️

It’s a weird series but has some really good moments

Stopped watching

really good

good asf

What a luxury to have Park Chan-wook direct tv. Also get why Downey would be interested in this to really show some range

Worth a watch and a rewatch!

As much as i wanted to like it, it did not interest me. i didn’t have the urge to continue it.

Preferred the book but this was funny

Very funny and action packed!

Sparked something within myself

too meh didn’t finish :/

A fresh look of ideology behind vietnamese war

Interesting show with a nice, small sprinkle of laugh out loud moments but also a hearty punch finale. Entertaining and thought provoking, even if the finale almost feels like a totally different show - but that's the intent.

Couldn't even finish it. Got 4 episodes in and still did not find it interesting. Too dry and confusing. Seemed like it was just a show to let RDJ try and play a bunch of different characters.

😪

😎

In between like and meh. The first episode was very compelling i just feel like the overall storytelling was lacking sometimes and the pacing was a lil weird but i still enjoyed it. The score and soundtrack were also great. 6.8/10

It’s a unique take/perspective on the Vietnam War and I generally really like Robert Downey Jr but kinda thought it was trying too hard to be cool at times
