My mom adores this show and got me hooked in the process. I fell in love with the fashion and vibe of this show’s era. This period piece showcases struggles of addiction and weight of the intellect and ego. Everyone loves this show for a reason, with such a creative and new plot.

Loved it and knowing enough chess at the time to understand a lot. Now into chess more than ever with tournaments I have been, I would love a rewatch so much!!

I don’t know what I was thinking by not watching this series as soon as it premiered. It features excellent cinematography that perfectly captures the atmosphere of the 1950s and 1960s.

The story feels very original, and the characters are incredible. Beth is a character who breaks the traditional stereotypes of women during the 1960s. Instead of following the expected path of becoming a wife and mother, she completely immerses herself in competitive chess and makes it the center of her life.

Beth is a fascinating and unusual character: she is incredibly intelligent and can immediately understand chess strategies, but she struggles with social relationships and connecting with others.

The ending of the series was perfect. 💯 Even though Beth can be quite insensitive toward her friends, they were still there for her from afar, supporting her during the chess championship in Russia.

9/10 I love this show! It was captivating to watch. EMPOWERING. great acting
