The Penguin
best show of the year hands down. HBO fucking 𝘊𝘖𝘖𝘒𝘌𝘋. i have so much to say it’s not normal. matt reeves made this perfect in every way possible. it’s so dark, evil, & scary it fits so damn well. the finale really speaks more than words to show how big of a fucking monster the penguin really is. the cast was phenomenal in every way shape and form. collin farell deserves an oscar, he portrays oz so good it’s unreal. even from the first time i watched him in the batman he blew my mind. the makeup of oz really is a work of art. the character development, the set design, the production design, the wardrobe, the camera work, the action sequences, the cinematography, the score, the editing, the color palette, the vfx & sfx… literally every fucking role was spectacular. i can’t fucking wait for batman 2 its not even funny. i’m gonna rewatch the first one bc i’m so hyped. marvel could never. 9.8 / 10

Simply put, this was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. There is absolutely nothing I would change. The creators put their heart and soul into this project and it will be a show long remembered as one of the best. 10/10

HBO has been on top of the TV game since The Sopranos and clearly still is. The writing, directing, production, and performances are unforgettable and insanely rewarding. DC has been on top too, hiring overseers like Matt Reeves and James Gunn. Comparing the few new DC shows to the marathon of Marvel shows... DC clears, and it's not even close. The atmospheres, characters, dramas, visuals, references, outfits, Cristin Milioti, pacing, story, satire, Colin Farrell, and soundtrack— all of it. Finding out this was a limited series had me waddling like Oswald. Having to wait until Batman 2 to see these icons again is pure torture.

Holy shit what a show!! I can’t believe in 8 episodes you get so much depth from all the characters and the plot only gets better as the show goes on. The acting, cinematography, soundtrack, everything was great. Colin Farrell gives the performance I think of his lifetime and all the supporting actors and actress just boost his role even more. The dark themes, struggles, revenge, betrayal, everything is just so perfect. I loved this show and it 100% should’ve won the Emmy for best limited series. You don’t even have to like Batman or anything related to superheroes to watch this show, it does a great job building the universe from the Batman, but easily could stand alone. I’m blow away about how good it was.

Surprised this show didn’t get talked about more. The DC cinematic universe is really improving and you can see that in this show. I feel like for a while DC was trying to be marvel, and I’m glad they’re back to being more dark and original. Also good cinematography.

I didn’t expect much, but wow. Sophia is one of the best written women I’ve ever seen & now a new favorite character. + Penguin’s evolution narratively & to the audience is so fascinating. His relationships with his mother & Vic rlly hold everything together. All in all, bravo. 👏

The Penguin
9/10 - great show and performance, would describe this as “Sopranos meets DC universe”. The storyline provides a glimpse into the monster that is the Penguin told in a more realistic fashion. Would recommend. I’ll certainly be watching this again.

Perfect continuation of the new The Batman world. Great character studies and emotion amidst all the gangster violence and drug rings. Excellent action, performances, cinematography. One of the best shows in 2024.

The Penguin
One of the best comic book series I’ve ever seen.
This series was pure perfection from beginning to end. It’s definitely one of the best series this year.
If Colin Farrell doesn’t win the Emmy and Golden Globe I’ll be very upset. Same goes for Cristin Milioti.
Thank you M.R

Excellent series. The only problem os that none of this can happen in Gotham without Batman or Gordon getting involved.

The lack of Batman becomes harder and harder to believe with every gunshot, usurpation and explosion, but Oz carries his own exceptionally well and the new cast fits right in. An amazing crime thriller id recommend to just about anyone. Makes the wait a little easier.
