An hour of glorified porn where nothing happens. Just a compilation of partying and sex with no actual substance. And when there is dialogue or sense of a plot, it’s so painfully soulless. Sam Levinson has never had a conversation with another human being. I refuse to believe it

I was so excited because of the cast & they could have done something actually cool with the concept, but no instead it’s just a dragged out hour of gross porn, dancing, drugs, & weird remarks. the last episode was the only one I genuinely cared to watch because it had substance.

I was excited for this show and wanted so badly not to believe all the negative reviews but I didn’t even care to finish the first episode. Failed attempt at covering a poorly planned plot with glorified porn and sexualizing Lily Rose Depp. Uncomfortable vibes too.

the male fantasy of the brilliant writers who can’t write any well-rounded characters but can very well glorify substance abuse and toxic power dynamics. due to the female lead liking the “rapey vibe” of the male lead I wouldn’t expect any improvements in the next episodes.

only watched cause abel was in it ngl

idc what anyone says i loved the show. the cinematography the soundtrack the vibes SO GOOD. a very raw commentary on the music industry, drug abuse, hollywood cults etc. complex unlikeable characters, a lot of controversial scenes but overall loved the ending ⭐️

THE ENDING SUCKED ASS!!!!! I appreciate the whole concept of a toxic and manipulative relationship bc thats a very real thing but that ending can suck it it’s so irritating that she finally got rid of him and then just giving in again ?? Also the male gaze in the entire show LORD

this show gets a lot of flack but it’s really not that bad, i’ve seen worse. there’s cringiness but there’s supposed to be, it’s not supposed to be 100% serious. ep 4 and 5 are the most “climaxing” i would say, & with the way it ended there’s a good chance there’s a 2nd season.

I don’t understand the hate. It’s a very compelling show about a pop star going through a personal transition. Very, but very well produced with amazing talent. My recommendation, watch it and see this is your kind of show, because is raw at points.

This show is amazing. I don’t understand all the hate. It’s Sam Levinson, what did everyone expect lol. Who watches his stuff to see something normal? The Weeknd was great in this. His character was terrifying, shows how leeches are in the music business and just LA in general

If there was a hate button I would have said that instead. Somewhere between trying to make a point and trying to make art, Sam Levinson gets stuck in his own way and created this pointless failure of a commentary on pop stars.

A crown jewel of toxicity and superficiality, but not in a good way. It might be bearable if not for the slew of uncomfortable sex scenes and cringy acting, especially from The Weeknd. One thing’s for sure though, when he said “I turn the Ritz into a poor house,” he wasn’t lying.

For all the hate this show got, it honestly isn’t that bad. I wish they developed the storyline a bit more as I was engaged but the ending fell flat on me.

So shit, just softcore porn. Watching the weeknd do what he does in this show is harrowing
