The Day of the Jackal
my god what a fucking show. i have so much to say idk where to start. i knew from the first teaser this was going to be incredible, and that’s an understatement. the score bro, that celeste intro hits so fucking well, reminds me of adele in 007 holy fuck. even with just the first frames of the first episode starting with “everything in its right place” made me fall in love. it just got better and better, soundtrack, theme track, never missed the tone of the show. but my GOD the cinematography… fuckkkk. not one frame was mid, but definitely the last episode had my favorite one. ifykyk. never missed one single shot. camera work was so precise and elegant. production design was bonkers. all the locations and attention to detail left me speechless. one of my favorite touches was the fucking steady cam to balance the sniper haha omg it had me excited. the makeup of the jackal… chef’s kiss. but most importantly why i love this show so much is the fucking story telling. such great screenplay. and last but not least the cast, so so so good. eddie is a fucking bad ass. úrsula is a babe like always. both of them had incredible chemistry. lashana also performed incredible. i just don’t know what else to say. easily one of my favorite shows of 2024. peacock thank you for investing in this masterpiece of a show. can’t fucking wait for szn II. 10 / 10

Killer soundtrack, awesome action, espionage thriller. Nuanced characters and lots of globe trotting and vistas/locales. Very much Bourne Identity and Tom Clancy/Jack Ryan vibes but love the cat and mouse chase between protagonist and antagonist. Top quality suspenseful show.

What a show! Acting was fantastic! Story was great and very intrigued for the second season. The jackal is ruthless. Just overall very well done edge of your seat action! Highly recommend one of the best shows of the year

Awesome. Eddie Redmayne does that “unreadable” sociopathic stare better than anyone. Lashana Lynch is a force, and somehow just as terrifying even as the hero. Morally gray shows about assassins never get old when you do them right.

The Day of the Jackal
Not watched the original but I had to stop watching and stack up the episodes because it blew my expectations. It's a low-budget, high-quality James Bond type of thriller and the soundtrack/score makes that obvious. It's sad seeing so many people use the word 'woke' when something opposes their 'straight-forward' standard. Anyway, I liked how the story kept changing, it made scenes feel that little more tense. I will say though, the writing goes below average several times. No one should be expecting 'realistic' scenarios, but some scenes really have a dangerously low level of sense. Hopefully season 2 gets sturdy.

9/10 it’s on par with “Night Manager”, great plot/cast. Looking forward to S2. If “Bond”(TV) takes the same path (gritty/intelligent spy thriller l) then the further bright. Recommend.

Started out strong, but lots of unnecessary added for drama and hated the ending.

The Day of the Jackal
Last few episodes lost a bit of steam since the showrunners clearly wanted a season 2, but it doesn’t hold punches, and starts off very strong

Not believable in how the characters behave. Whoever wrote this cannot write female characters. The female lead was done dirty especially. They made her severely unlikeable, more so than the guy committing atrocious acts?! Wrote the assassin as more feeling and complex. Nonsense.

Dont get my wrong the series is very good but the woman in the poster is the most annoying character of all. They written her so bad, its almost like its forced.
