I definetly wasn’t expecting to love this show, but the puppetry it was got me to watch it and it was so worth it. The story is so intriguing. There’s lots of twists and turns. If you’ve seen the original dark crystal, you’re pretty much obligated to watch this.

"Game of Thrones" meets "The Muppets" meets "Lord of the Rings". After watching the original film, I had to watch this solely for the mind-blowing puppetry, and to put it simply, Jim Henson would have loved this. His production company did not disappoint. The design, choreography, practicality, and CGI are hypnotic. The story is way darker than I expected. Unfortunately, the storytelling is where the problems start. Each episode is like a movie in itself, and far too many elements are introduced but not fleshed out enough. More episodes, all at a shorter length, would have worked better. Also, the cast is overwhelmingly immense, yet only a few stood out. Nonetheless, I hope to see so much more of this world.
