Hostage Reviews

The only "hostage" scenario I was aware of was the one I was held under. Hopeful and idealised messages overshadowed by ponderous plotlines and disjointed developments. Having only five episodes clearly was part of the problem, although I'm glad it was over sooner rather than later. I love political thrillers, especially British ones, but the production and performances are lacklustre, and the sensical loses sense fast. The entire premise becomes almost fraudulent when you start mixing important underlying truths with dramatised facades.

All I kept thinking while watching this is, don’t they have a secret service, where are the police who are supposed to be guarding the PM, and this would have looked very different in America…or at least in an American TV show.

Great show with a few twists

Some kind of silly moments that disrupt the suspension of disbelief. Overall though very good with strong characterizations and acting.

It was good. The pacing held up, visuals were sharp, and the performances felt authentic. Some scenes dragged, but overall, it left a strong impression.

I could watch a new version of these types of shows every week

The first 3 episodes are decent, but the last two episodes descend into a steaming pile of chaotic and unrealistic dogshit.
