Star Wars: Visions

I watched 2 episodes of this and realized it was a complete and utter waste of my time. Star Wars has fallen off so much but I couldn’t believe they reached this level. Why the hell are they trying their hand at anime. You are not that guy pal. Some good, but a lot bad. 4.1/10.

Star Wars: Visions

This show is artistically interesting and all, but the stories just kind of don’t hit for me. It especially doesn’t hit in terms of Star Wars content. This show feels like the production went ”What if we made Star Wars, except it’s actually not Star Wars at all”.

If you wanna watch a show with short stories and interesting art directives, just go watch ”Love, Death + Robots”.

Star Wars: Visions

Rating: 8.1/10 ⭐️

I expected random shorts, but the creative freedom given to these global studios totally blew me away.

What Worked:
Every Studios utilized dynamic framing to make lightsaber duels feel kinetic, perfectly scratching my anime itch. Top-tier composers layered cultural instruments under classic swells to ground each style. Through my Methodist faith lens, seeing unlikely heroes choose the light beautifully reinforced my beliefs about grace and protecting the vulnerable.

The Cuts:
The anthology format gave me massive tonal whiplash; jumping from a moody samurai story to a chibi rock band made it impossible to settle into a vibe. Some runtimes really dragged for me, causing emotional beats to fall flat. Also, relying heavily on the recycled “hidden Jedi” trope felt like a wasted chance to explore non-Jedi perspectives.

Verdict:
A stunning, diverse love letter to Star Wars. Fantastic if you love experimental anime; skip if you strictly want canon lore.

Favorite Line: “The light will always find a way to shine through the darkness.”
