Slow Horses

I don't know why I held this off for so long. The older Gary 'Old'man gets, the more I enjoy his performances. The character writing is some of the best I've seen in television. There's so many original personalities and comforting actors. It's like 'Mission Impossible' but with the satirical rejects. You gradually connect to each character and understand why they're the misfits. I've seen so many spy thrillers but rarely do they stay committed to continuously thrilling. Every single 6 episode season is ram-packed with action, drama, humour, and emotion. It builds up trust by being predictable and then shatters it completely with unique ideas. I never want it to stop.

Very slow burn British spy drama/thriller with tons of build-up and satisfying season finales. Each season is short and sweet, perfectly so. If you’re a fan of the genre, you’ll feel right at home, but I can imagine some dedicated viewing for newcomers.

It never does anything groundbreaking, but it does everything really well. It takes a bit to get going and you have to learn to love the characters (especially the supporting ones). But stick with it for a few episodes and it’s a good binge watch. Oldman is always hilarious too. 7.3/10

Really good show. Love the hard softy Jackson Lamb. Season 3 was the best so far.
