Something about this show that had such a chokehold on me growing up! Like why was it so so good! Emily… Amanda.. whoever lol. They did their thing for this show! And the fact that Amanda (real one) is actually married to Grayson in rl too! Wow

So I finally finished “Revenge” and honestly, I didn’t care for it that much. The show started off strong. Season one really hooked me, especially because I liked Emily (Amanda Clarke) and Daniel’s connection. Plus, I loved Sammy the dog. Nolan also stood out as one of my favorite characters the whole way through.

Season two completely lost me. It felt like the writers tried to cram in way too many storylines at once. Declan’s death was so obviously just a way to write him out, and Charlotte spent most of the show being the damsel in distress, which got old fast. I also didn’t like Jack for most of the series. By the final season he grew on me a bit, but honestly, he and Amanda had zero chemistry in my opinion.

Season three was an improvement since it gave more background leading up to David Clarke’s return. But him running to Victoria first made no sense. Even if he thought Amanda was dead, Victoria was clearly an awful person. On top of that, how did he not recognize his own daughter? He saw pictures of the real Emily Thorne and still thought that was her? It just felt sloppy. And don’t even get me started on Victoria killing Aiden, I hated that. Daniel shooting Emily was also way out of character. Sure, he was drinking, but it still didn’t fit who he was supposed to be.

The final season was just okay. Daniel’s death really upset me since I liked him for most of the show, and Victoria’s ending was way too underwhelming considering she was the main villain from day one. She deserved something way more dramatic. Then after all that build up about David Clarke, they kill him off less than a year after Amanda finally reunites with him. Pointless. The last five minutes wrapped things up fine. Amanda ending up with Jack was whatever, it felt like he was her only option at that point since all of her exes were dead, but I did like that Amanda and Jack got another dog at the end.

Overall, I wouldn’t rewatch “Revenge”. It had potential, but the writing got messy, and by the end, I wasn’t impressed. At least I finished it though.
