The story of a mythomaniac who younger
wanted recognition and decided to start a cult to present himself as a prophet. He has his own harem of women and live a luxurious life with the money of his cults members but people still believe in him. Simply crazy!

This featured mostly people who are still “in it.” I truly don’t understand how anyone could observe this guy for decades and be like “yeah, makes sense.” 🤪

This is story is pretty well-known in french pop culture but the docu does some things very well: key testimonies, compelling aesthetic and immersive score. It did feel like it lost its footing at the end but that’s because the story hasn’t reached a conclusive end yet.

Men want to believe in a God while living life on their own terms. That in my opinion is the reason why so many fall prey to cults.
