Checked it out for Pacific Rim Day since I love giant mecha and wanted to see the world expand. Honestly loved how this updates classic Jaeger-versus-Kaiju brawls into a deep survival story.

What Worked:
• Polygon’s 3D style completely pops, keeping the heavy metallic weight feeling real.
• Sibling dynamic feels authentic, giving their desperate wasteland search real heart.
• New lore bits, like Boy and the rogue hybrid tech, breathe awesome life into the world.

The Friction:
• The Bogan camp interrogation part in season one really dragged for me.
• A few secondary survivor villains honestly felt too standard and predictable.

Verdict:
Watch for a stylish mecha adventure with real heart. Skip if cell-shaded animation annoys you.

Excellent show!
I thought Pacific Rim was a decent movie, but S1 of this show was so good that when I saw the movie again I loved it!
Great characters & arcs. Emotional; full of action; has good themes; & it expands on the lore (albeit pushing the expected limits a bit).

Loved how they see what they hoped for and it wasn’t there, and in the end it was there🤩
