Made in Abyss

However childlike the animation may seem, don't start this show if you don't have the stomache for a gruesome, heart-wrenching and depressing journey. Every layer of the abyss adds more darkness to the story. But it's all worth it in the end!

Season 1 was pretty good but season 2 was terrible with no direction

Don’t let the child like animation fool you, there’s so much depth here. I watched the entire first season on a plane and was entranced the whole time. Great characters and world building and excited to see where it goes from here.

i tried watching this years ago, and to this day, i refuse to give it another chance. the main characters are literally children, but the amount of scenes that depict them in a sexual manner, or may hint at it, is absolutely despicable. it's such a waste of a good plot too :(
