Friday Night Lights
Friday Night Lights was a really good show and I ended up getting way more attached to the characters than I expected to. My favorite characters were Tyra, Landry, and Tim, and I also loved the Taylors. What made the show so good to me was how real everyone felt and how much time they spent developing the relationships between the characters. The show was at its best when it focused on the characters’ personal lives and relationships just as much as football. Seasons 2 and 3 were probably my favorites because the drama was entertaining and almost every storyline kept me invested. Even when a lot of the original cast left later on, I still ended up liking characters like Vince, Jess, and Luke.
At the same time, the ending definitely lowered the show overall for me. I will never understand why they had Tyra and Tim get back together instead of Tyra and Landry ending up together after everything they went through. Their relationship had so much more depth and build up, so the ending just felt frustrating and honestly kind of pointless to me. Same goes for Tim and Lyla, they were clearly meant to be together too. I also did not like how many original characters were barely in the final seasons because it lost some of what made the earlier seasons feel so special. Still, even with the ending disappointing me, I really liked the show overall and I can see why so many people love it.
