As a nurse, I know medical professionals really appreciated a realistic depiction of what it’s really like without the need to explain every single thing being done and oversaturate with soap opera romantic drama like Greys Anatomy and every other hospital drama.

truly not enough can be said about this show. this show changed my life, the characters, the lessons learned, the drama, the patients all of it is incredible. although it has its many flaws it shines in many more ways and i wish i could say more about how this show changed me ❤️

Great! Wished I got to see how Rachel Greene was in Med school/ working in ER alongside everyone Mark knew.

So incredible!!! Took me a season or two to get really into it, but once I did I was addicted. The perfect show with super flawed, interesting characters and compelling storylines. Fast paced ER life mixed with the personal lives of the staff. HIGHLY recommend to anyone

7.5 - (finished 8/19/26) it fizzled down the stretch as certain mainstays left, & got very soapy as they focused on a lot of relationship storylines. And despite the creator’s insistences that every medical case was inspired by real life anecdotes & live accounts, it did seem implausible how many tragedies & absurd cases could happen to one single hospital.

But it’s overall a very good time.

It gave us a bunch of fully fleshed out storylines & characters. We saw immense growth & entire character arcs - births, relationships, deaths, career arcs, marriages, divorces, almost anything you can think of, & very little of it felt unreasonable in the moment while watching. It also changed a lot of how cable tv was created & written, & how audiences watched tv. You can feel Spielberg and Crichton’s influences in the cinematic camera work, the sweeping emotional scores, & the lengthy arcing storylines. There’s a ton of clear reasons that this was the ratings leader for so many years, & you can feel its influence on a lot of more modern shows. It’s also impressive how many careers it helped launch or at least how many “before they were famous” actors/actresses made an appearance.

It’s not really near my all time favorites list, but this well worth the time investment all the same (shockingly under 3 months).
