East of Eden Reviews

This series was so good. I’ve never read Steinbeck's East of Eden, but I would like to believe this series is a good retelling of the book. I felt so many emotions as I watched, from fear, hate, and disgust to love. The acting is phenomenal, especially Florence Pugh, who always seems to blow her roles out of the park, but this one was out of this world. I fell in love with Cathy, Lee, and Cal, as well as Adam, and I hope to return to this series one day and let it make me sob all over again.

Holy shit. Netflix… I didn’t know you still had this in you. Cast 15/10, homage to the source material 10/10, overall quality of the series 10/10. Sobbed my eyes out at the end. Florence the woman that you are.

AMAZING!!, my heart breaks for cal all he wanted was to do good and make his father proud 💔 I was getting so mad for him!.and the fact his mother left her will only arom who she saw for a second!!, he was such a good brother aswell I was so shocked that Kate/cathy was bad! , 9/10

Manipulation at its finest.

Pretty superficial compared to the book, but overall still good. I wish we saw more of the Hamilton family as in the book. The acting in this show was IMMACULATE. And I just want to give Cal the whole world ❤️‍🩹🫂

Good not great IMO but I know people love the book. Overall very well done show / great cast.

Honestly it was a messed up show every character had their issues but it was beautifully tragic at the same time. The acting felt real the emotions of the characters poured through. Every character had flaws. Cal prayed to be good. and he was such a complex character.

6.5/10 - Oof that was a tough watch towards the end, in a sad way. Really well written, as expected from the source material. Some stellar acting performances here as well

Wonderfully acted and beautiful approach in adaptation.

Wow was this depressing. Doesn’t mean I didn’t rate it as a good series with great characters played by a fantastic cast.

A bit hard to really get deep into because of Flo’s high profile, which sucks because I love her. But the story was fantastic, loved Lee’s character arc.

took some time to get into but then it got GOOD. florence pugh is insane, that made me even more excited for the hunger games bc joseph zada a) insane actor b) so pretty.
I firmly think that if a show isn’t a normal length of 8 or 10 episodes there should have to be a disclaimer
