Dune: Prophecy Reviews

Really interesting show. Half of me thinks it’s very impressive and the other half is kinda meh on it. Can be slow at parts and very repetitive but that fits in line with the 2 Denis movies. Overall, this entire new Dune saga is very strange for me. I know both films are technically really good, but at the same time when I’m watching them I’m kind of indifferent to everything happening. That’s how this show is as well. Still giving it a thumbs up but it’s not gonna crack my top 5 shows of 2024 at all

I honestly think this might be my 'greatest of all time'. I was so uncertain after getting two masterclass movies but this somehow joins the ranks. Dune is one of the only convoluted books I've 'attempted' to read. Headphones on in pitch darkness and it still wasn't enough. The sounds/score tore through me like Shai-Hulud and the designs/vfx satisfied me harder than spice itself. Dune is all about political tactics, religious symbolism, environmental effects, technology, psychology, sociology, and words I can't begin to name. It's illustrious yet prominent to our power-mad reality, and that's why I love it. Flawless casting, with a suspenseful structure. S2 better come soon because there's still so much left uncovered and I just know they can't wait to drop it in later episodes.

Wow, god I love anything Dune related. Such an interesting show and so cool to go into it with all of the knowledge I have from the Dune movies about these families and how things end up in 10,000 years. I hope hbo max keeps feeding me more dune content while I wait for the third movie.

Game of Thrones: sandworm edition

The lore of Dune is fantastic, but don’t expect it to save this show. So boring, I was uninterested in the story and didn’t care about any of the characters. I am the Dune glazer and I am disappointed, and my day is ruined

Kinda boring

Very dialogue heavy with episodes and episodes of set-up for payoffs that never feel that satisfying. There’s also no one to really “root” for. It is interesting to see so much of the non-Arrakis side of the Dune universe but at the end of the day that’s what has the most appeal.

Can’t wait for the next movie

A cool concept, prequel to the Dune saga, but it was kinda slow. Great set design, decent cast, just could have been done in 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

Simply worse than the films in every way.

My only issue with this show is that it ended on a cliffhanger 😔

This series is so gripping that I’m so excited about second part I hope it will come fast!!

Puts you right back in the world and Travis Fimmel has once again proven to be a great sci fi crazy villain. Like the movies though it’s going to be a long wait till the next season which sucks.
