A swing and a miss. This one could’ve gone out of the park with an extra hour and clearer direction. At least I don’t have to watch that terrible opening credit sequence again.

Loved this show. The costuming and art direction were impeccable. This show made me wonder if James Garfield was going to be my new favorite president.

Despite some heavy fudging of history in spots, this was still entertaining viewing. I do recommend it, just be wary of what you take as fact.

Very interesting and very informative! I’m very happy that I watched it and that it was suggested to me by one of my sons!

Fantastic casting, perfectly paced, well written.

This was so good. Fascinating true story, great cast, basically the perfect show for a history nerd who loves TV (that’s me).
Wish I could find more shows this good and with this format for other interesting historical eras.

Well done! My only complaint is that they failed to mention the origin story of being in a ferry accident that put him on a purpose.

Also they missed explaining how they literally built a rail line in NJ for the president

Fascinating story, compelling performances. Good pacing. Really frustrated by the excessive anachronistic profanity, which was extremely distracting. Would have been strengthened by more period-appropriate dialogue.
