Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Arguably the greatest anime of all time with arguably the greatest main character of all time. If you love a story with a lot of political undertones that also has fantastic fight scenes, incredible supporting cast, riveting story, and big emotional implications, you’ll love it.

Like Death Note if Light was likable. I don't like mech anime, but the mechs in this are secondary to the plot. So many plot twists and emotional moments.
