Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Arguably the greatest anime of all time with arguably the greatest main character of all time. If you love a story with a lot of political undertones that also has fantastic fight scenes, incredible supporting cast, riveting story, and big emotional implications, you’ll love it.

A masterpiece where the villain wins and the hero also wins but in a different way

I’d rate it around a 4 to 4.5 out of 5. The plot, characters, and ending counldn’t be better. The only downside is that it leans a bit too heavily into unnecessary fanservice at times, which takes away from the story. If it toned that down, it would be a 5.

I didn’t like it. I hated Lelouch. I hated the art style. I wasn’t very engaged in the story.

The politics get convoluted and it’s a lot of doing the just/right thing in the wrong way. Kallen was my favorite character. Very non-hero.
