So many scenes were exactly like I imagined them while reading(ignoring the things they changed) and the amount of foreshadowing to book 3 was crazy

first thing I have to say is, you'll love the show if you didn’t read the books- the acting is great for some characters, but some of them fall short
emma did a fantastic job and it wasn’t my first time watching a show she starred in, but I just don’t understand why they would hire an american actress for a british show? I could tell right away that emma slipped up a bunch of times with an american accent

I was disappointed with the significant differences between the show and the books- certain characters didn’t make it to the show, and some character dynamics were portrayed quite differently? I understand that changes are sometimes necessary for tv adaptations but these changes didn’t seem to enhance the story!!

I could go on about the differences but I’ll stop here
I did find it surprising how easily things seemed to go for the main character, with everyone being so forthcoming with information?? In the books, it felt like you were solving the mystery along with the protagonist, but in the show, it felt more like watching her jump to conclusions and have mental breakdowns when things didn’t go her way ,,,,,
there were also some plot elements introduced that didn’t seem to be fully developed which felt unnecessary :p

would I recommend this show? yes.
would I rewatch it? not really.

I hated this so much it actually made me want to try out for the DT killer role, and after i get the role i murder the directors violently because of how bad it is. Id rather get e coli than pretend to like this.Tom Vaughan and Dolly Wells im outside your house waiting patiently

changing my review after s2. SO much better. found out holly jackson had control of the script in season 2 and it really shows. really excited to see a third season!!

I never read the books but enjoyed the show. Plenty of twists and turns that kept me engaged. The show picked up more near the second half but never felt too slow. I really enjoyed Pip as a character but some of the information came so easily to her. I wanted to see her struggle a bit more to pull information from people, especially when they are putting themselves in danger to share the truth. Was the book better at this?

I really wanted to like this bc I love the books but the show was NOT accurate
A lot of important things were missing and if they were in it would be imp for 1 minute and then they move on. They also dumbed down Pip by not allowing her to actually investigate.

I wanted so bad to love this as I love the books with my whole heart but it was so bad (i’m so sorry)

I think This was a very good book adaptation, I’m a bit sad that some vital stuff was changed, but I’m hopeful for a second season and more of the stuff that was left out somehow finding its way back into this universe. Pip & Ravi will always be one of my favorite ships <3

Never heard of it before but gave it a chance simply because BBC and Netflix have some good 'murder' series. They both also have a lot of below-average content, and this adds to the list. I don't see my childhood, teen, or adult self liking this. The mystery and story play on repeat for most of the episodes, so much so, I gave up caring about anything and everything. While the story introduces and carries on reintroducing itself, the chemistry, acting, and dialogue, feel completely forced. Artifical and empty, I'm guessing the book is a million times better, as it apparently always is.

The book was a fun read but this just wasn’t as good for some reason. I don’t know I just couldn’t get into it but it was still an interesting and pretty series. casting was pretty solid other than the fact that Emma Myers can’t do a British accent

It is nothing like the book. Literally. Doesn’t mean it’s bad. love the cast,the acting’s very good & the cinematography was impressive at some points esp ep 4. hate how much easier she got stuff but ig there’s sm u can put in 6 eps. I def rec this, but read the book 1st

Just finished *A Good Girl's Guide to Murder*, and I have to say, Emma's acting was exceptional. After her incredible performance in *Wednesday*, my admiration for her has only grown.

Disappointingly mediocre, I enjoyed the trilogy on paper but whoever thought bringing the series to life like this was either a 13 year old fangirl or an extremely mundane director going through a midlife crisis. Almost every scene is horrifically dense and devoid of any emotion.

another poor book adaptation to a screen 😞 lots of changes & details missed and ending felt rushed, on spot casting though! I’m telling you the book is so much better than this

it wasn’t horrible and i feel like if i hadn’t read the book i could’ve enjoyed this a lot more but alas the curse of reading books before the adaptation comes out haunts me again😓 it was still sooo good tho and a lot of the places are exactly how i pictured them which is freaky😛

I loveeeeee the plot twists it keeps you suspicious of everyone, i think there will be season 2.

That‘s why I don’t trust book adaptations.
